The COVID-19 pandemic has bought the entire world to a grinding halt. A considerable number of companies, regardless of their size, are taking all the essential steps to keep their business stay afloat. Recently, startups have been hit by layoffs, frozen hiring, made salary cuts, and much more as the novel coronavirus threatened to dry up funding and squeeze the business. 

According to the national statistics office CBS, the Dutch official jobless rate rose to 4.5% in July, as the number of unemployed went up to 419,000. In Amsterdam, around 29,000 people claimed unemployment benefits, a rise of 53% on a year ago, says another report

During the pandemic, the Dutch startup witnessed over 400 per cent growth over its entire client portfolio.

VanMoof

VanMoof is a developer and designer of urban e-bikes to help commuters get to work without breaking a sweat. The Dutch company says it realised a 220% global revenue growth during the worldwide lockdown and sold more bikes in the first four months of 2020 than the previous two years combined. To date, the company has €52M funding from various investors. As a part of its expansion plan, the Amsterdam-based company is hiring for various positions.
