This September, Capital On Stage will again turn the tables on the startup industry at a one of a kind event set during the second Amsterdam Capital Week. Instead of founders looking for that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, Capital On Stage will have venture capitalists pitching startup companies if they could please fund them. The event will take place on Thursday September 29th and will be hosted by international law firm Loyens & Loeff.
Geese with golden eggs
For aspiring startups, the highly unconventional concept of Capital On Stage sounds too good to be true. After all, for most founders it can be a painstaking task to find any funding. And suddenly here is an event with top-tier investors pitching to founders?! But make no mistake: the event is highly attractive for Venture Capitalists. They are all looking for the next goose that lays the golden eggs, and Capital On Stage presents them with a pond full of them.
Capital On Stage coming home to Amsterdam
Capital On Stage has been running successful events like these for a few years now in New York, Berlin, London and Singapore. But Arjen Strijker, Founder & CEO of Capital On Stage B.V, explains that the company has its roots in Amsterdam:
“This is our (home sweet home) flagship conference. Top tier investors will turn the tables and take the stage in a sort of Dragons’ Den in reverse. The audience will be start-ups actively looking for funding.”
Strictly selected startups
Of course this does not mean any startup can participate, as Capital On Stage is only welcoming scalable tech driven companies who have already got their act together. Participating startups must be at a point where they’re looking for VC investment between €500,000 and €10 million. Founders can apply for on invite through this link. Those who make it past the selection process will be well looked after, as the event has the interests of start-ups at its heart with a ratio of 6:1 founders to investors.
Speed dating for founders and VC’s
The lucky founders to get selected will have the option to indicate which investors they would like to meet. After the VC’s pitching on stage the event will hold Open Office Hour sessions. Here founders can pre-book 10 minute private meetings with two investors of choice. It is basically speed dating for founders and VC’s!
Taking away the fear of funding
Capital On Stage’s primary aim is to take the fear away that founders often experience when it comes to the process of acquiring funding. The company also wants to show founders how to close an investment round. The second Amsterdam Capital Week will take place from Monday the 26th of September until Friday September 30th. More events will be announced soon.
