Italy‘s HypeSound, a startup employing an advanced acoustic modulation system to improve bioproduction efficiency, has raised €1.2M in a pre-seed round.
The funding round was led by Eatable Adventures and backed by other strategic investors, including CDP Venture Capital, Nextup, Vento Ventures, Athena FH, and Ulixes Capital.
The funding will help the Italian startup open a new laboratory in Perugia more quickly and improve its So’Sweep technology.
The company will focus on optimising industrial bioproduction and testing new types of microorganisms. In addition to microalgae, it will also work with yeasts and bacteria.
“Our mission is to combine nature’s intelligence with technological innovation,” says Matteo Crucito, CEO of HypeSound.
“This funding round will allow us to further strengthen our product, expand our team to enhance R&D, and accelerate our expansion into key markets. Our goal is to make bioproduction more sustainable and efficient, and this investment brings us one step closer to that vision,” adds Crucito.
HypeSound: Accelerating microbial growth
Founded by Giorgio Labruzzo in 2019, HypeSound is a biotech startup specialising in optimising bioproduction processes through low-frequency sound technology.
“By integrating sound into biological processes, we can make bioproduction more efficient, sustainable, and scalable while reducing resource consumption,” adds Crucito.
HypeSound’s So’Sweep technology, based on low-frequency sound waves, offers a scalable and sustainable method to enhance microbial growth, significantly improving industrial bioproduction efficiency.
The company uses innovative algorithms to make biological production more efficient.
They provide businesses with advanced solutions that speed up processes and improve overall productivity.
The company’s mission is to change how companies handle bioproduction, offering sustainable and effective solutions that can be scaled globally.
HypeSound was recently awarded the Seal of Excellence by the European Innovation Council (EIC) for the quality of its project proposal.
The startup also successfully completed the first batch of FoodSeed, the food tech accelerator of CDP Venture Capital SGR’s National Network.
