People are always excited when they start a new job! But there is no better way to turn off a new employee than sending a pile of form in the mail. Meet Talmundo, a Dutch-Belgian HR-tech startup, that makes process a fun digital experience for all. Notably, the company was founded in 2012 out of a growing frustration around HR information systems.

In a recent development, the Dutch startup has announced that it has joined the HR Nordic group, which is backed by the growth investor Verdane. Moreover, it becomes the fourth recent acquisition of the group, following leading Nordic applicant tracking software (ATS) players HR Manager, Webcruiter and ReachMee.

Focus on DACH region!

The result, which will see Talmundo remain largely an independent company, helps the company strengthen its financial position as it continues to expand. In addition to growing its already established presence in Belgium, the Netherlands, France and the UK, the Hague-headquartered startup plans to invest strategically in the DACH region.

Additional investments will be also made to accelerate product development including enterprise features, analytics and the company’s AI-powered onboarding chatbot.

Key player in employee onboarding space

Since its launch in 2014, Talmundo has quickly become a key player in the European new employee onboarding space. Over 150 employers are currently using company’s onboarding solution including multinationals such as Engie, Lufthansa, TUI and BNP Paribas. More than 35.000 new hires across Europe have been officially onboarded using the company’s experience-driven platform.

Founder and CEO of Talmundo Stijn de Groef, who himself has reinvested a significant amount into the HR Nordic group as part of the acquisition agreement, will continue in his day-to-day role as CEO and will also join the group’s management team.

de Groef, said:

We are so proud of everything we have accomplished to date at Talmundo. We are laser focused on helping our clients to update outdated onboarding processes with the latest technology, allowing them to engage new employees like never before. We have been searching for a new partner as we seek to grow even faster and we’re excited to partner with Verdane and the HR Nordic group.

Lars Ringdal, CEO of the HR Nordic group, said:

Together with Verdane, we’re building an HR tech powerhouse. We were very impressed with the quality of Talmundo’s client portfolio and their onboarding offerings which match our European ambition. We have a great culture fit with the team at Talmundo. They strongly complement our existing offerings and add an extra dimension to our own growth strategy.
