In the latest development, WeWork, the New York-based flexible space provider, has joined hands with boutique innovation consultancy firm BW Ventures to launch the first accelerator programme for the music tech industry in Europe, based in Amsterdam.

Named Music Tech Accelerator, the programme aims to support eight early-stage startups to grow their business and network and help them develop a commercially and technically feasible product.

It’s worth mentioning that the Music Tech Accelerator programme is free of charge.

Who can participate in Music Tech Accelerator?

Music tech startups that have a solid idea and are looking for:

  • Coaching
  • Their first clients
  • Their first investment
  • Need help in building their first product
  • Want to scale their business

When?

The last date to register is July 14th, 2021. The virtual accelerator programme starts in August 2021. The Demo Day is in October 2021.

What to expect in Music Tech Accelerator?

Based out of Eindhoven, BW Ventures will provide individual learning and coaching sessions to participating startups to support them in reaching a state of problem-solution, product-market, and product-channel fit through continuous experimentation.

“What would you do if you had the opportunity to combine two of your biggest passions? Exactly, you go for it. The music industry was the start of my career. Since 2016, BW Ventures has helped over 150+ (corporate) startups find a commercially feasible plan. We are excited to launch this music-tech accelerator in close collaboration with WeWork to help the music-tech industry create new and lasting startups!” says Maarten van Kroonenburg, founder of BW Ventures.

During the 10-week Music Tech Accelerator programme, startups will be taken through the five fundamental steps:

  • Problem Discovery
  • Solution Discovery
  • Prototyping
  • Pitch MVP
  • Business Case

Participating startups will be introduced to investors and mentors from the Amsterdam music and tech industry.

WeWork Labs

Through WeWork Labs, WeWork’s digital startup platform, the accelerator teams will receive access to a global platform with events and education programmes and service discounts from software partners.

Furthermore, the startups will also get a free WeWork All-Access pass that provides workspace at +770 locations around the world, including four locations in Amsterdam.

Through WeWork Labs, the company creates opportunities for founders and their teams to access the mentorship, networking, and educational resources needed to drive their businesses forward.

“This Music Tech Accelerator programme is a natural fit for us in Amsterdam: The city is known for its leading role in EDM and music tech, and at WeWork, we know the power the right tools and network can have on driving success. We look forward to welcoming creative entrepreneurs to our global community and supporting them as they shape the music tech industry of the future.” says Thijs Sprangers, Head of WeWork Labs, Europe.
