Revolut, which is a leading financial super app based in London has launched its online Web App for its userbase of 13 million customers in the EEA (European Economic Area), Canada, Australia, Singapore, Japan, Switzerland, and the United States. The Web App is believed to let customers access their accounts safely from a web browser besides the smartphone app.

Secure access to all functionalities

With the Revolut Web App, customers who have lost or misplaced their phone or card can still access their account securely from a computer. According to the company, it provides them with enough security and flexibility that they need to access their money. There is two-factor authentication to securely sign in to the Revolut Web App. Also, it offers a complete overview of the account, cards, and transaction history. Moreover, Revolut customers are free to enable or disable any card security setting such as freeze/unfreeze their cards and block/unblock their PIN within a few clicks.

Besides controlling their own accounts, the Revolut Web App also lets customers top up their account via debit or credit card, Apple Pay using Safari or bank transfer. If there are any queries or issues, customers can contact Revolut support agents via web chat or check out the FAQs.

To sign in to your Revolut account using the Web App, you can visit Revolut’s secure online login page, key in your mobile number and follow the instructions that appear. With the Web App, you need not wait in long queues any more as you can control your money in just a few clicks.

Nik Storonsky, CEO and founder at Revolut, says “Account access through a browser is highly requested by our customers, so we’re delighted to have built a safe and convenient web app that everyone can use when they need it. Our customers can now access their money anywhere and at any time, even if they don’t have their phone or card, or if they simply prefer checking their account from a computer. It’s great to have the extra convenience and flexibility of an online option.”

Launches early salary feature in the UK

Revolut has also launched an early salary feature available to UK customers. According to the company, this move offers over three million people an easy and flexible way to access their pay cheque a day early each month.

With this new feature, Revolut’s UK customers can access their salaries and all payments made over the Bacs payment scheme a working day earlier than usual – subject to minimum requirements. “In the case where they would be paid on Monday, people would be able to access their salaries the Friday before. This is especially useful for navigating bank holiday weekends. So, whether it is students receiving their student loan or those financially squeezed by the impact of Covid-19, Revolut’s latest feature gives its customers more control over their finances during tough economic conditions,” the company says in its press release.

The new functionality has been enabled by the UK and Ireland-based fintech startup, Modulr – a long-term payments partner of Revolut. Modulr is a Payments-as-a-Service API platform for digital businesses and became one of few non-banks to gain direct access to the Bank of England, including Bacs and Faster Payments, last year. According to Revolut, this access enables this fintech to innovate and create new ways for its partners to access payments through automation, in a quicker, simpler and more efficient way than via traditional banking partners.

“Utilising our APIs and direct access to the Bank of England, Revolut can offer their customers payments solutions fit for this new normal we find ourselves in – where payments need to be instant, flexible and reliable. Customers accept nothing less now,” says Myles Stephenson, CEO and founder of Modulr.

Last month, Modulr secured £9M (nearly €10.1M) investment from PayPal Ventures to develop additional products, grow its team and expand its customer base.

Google Pay in select markets

The launch of the Revolut Web App follows the launch of Google Pay for its customers across ten European countries including Austria, Bulgaria, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Portugal and Romania. This way, Revolut Android users can make payments instantly within the app by setting up Google Pay and adding their card.
