The Philips Innovation Award (PHIA) raised the tension during the semi-finals held at the Schiecentrale Rotterdam this Monday. On this day, thirty of the most promising startups in the Netherlands competed for a spot in the Grand Final of this prestigious competition.
Eight startups are now one step closer to winning the main prize, having proven themselves as the most innovative and promising startups with concepts that have the potential to make large-scale impact. During the semi-finals, a panel of expert judges evaluated the startups on various aspects of their business plans, such as their product, team, and market.
The trajectory of the Philips Innovation Award is not only a competition for an award, but also a training program. With days, such as an Investor Day at YES!Delft and a Coaching Day at PHIA partner KPN for all thirty semi-finalists, one important training day remains for the finalists: the Pitch Training Day.
On this day, the finalists will receive valuable tips on how to present their pitch best under high-pressure situations, such as in a packed theater in front of a jury of experts. From optimizing the pitch structure to enhancing presentation skills, the finalists will be fully prepared.
The Grand Final of the Philips Innovation Award promises even more excitement, and will take place on May 15th, 2023 at Theater Rotterdam. Sixth Sense Diagnostics, Plense Technologies, and DeltaV will compete for the Rough Diamond Award, worth €10,000. The following five startups will compete for the Innovator Award, with a chance to win a prize worth €50,000: Fabulous Fungi, Weco, Innoflex Technologies, Heliostrome, and Exculture.
