Last update:

US-based Salesforce, a cloud-based software company, announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire London’s Convergence.ai, a company that builds AI agents for digital environments.

Founded by Marvin Purtorab and Andy Toulis, Convergence’s technology allows AI agents to move through changing digital systems and carry out tasks such as handling online workflows and multi-step actions. The agents adjust as they encounter issues like pop-ups, system errors, or changes to the user interface.

Aim of the acquisition

Convergence’s team and technology will support the development of Agentforce, a central part of Salesforce’s AI efforts.

The UK-based company’s team brings experience in AI agent design, autonomous task execution, and adaptive systems. This move aims to boost Salesforce’s AI capabilities and speed up the creation of agents for complex workflows.

Adam Evans, EVP & GM, Salesforce AI Platform, Salesforce, says, “The next wave of customer interaction and employee productivity will be driven by highly capable AI agents that can navigate the complexities of today’s digital work.”

“Convergence’s innovative approach to building adaptive, intelligent agents is incredibly impressive. We are thrilled to welcome their talented team to Salesforce, and we look forward to their contributions in helping Agentforce deliver AI that truly transforms how work gets done.”

Evans further adds, “We’re looking toward a future where Agentforce can empower our customers with AI agents that don’t just follow instructions, but truly perceive, reason, and adapt to the complexities of modern digital workflows.”

“Imagine AI assistants that can intuitively navigate ever-changing interfaces and intelligently manage intricate tasks with a new level of resilience and human-like ingenuity – that’s the kind of step-change we’re eager to explore.”

Salesforce expands AI operations in London

Convergence CEO Marvin Purtorab stated that the future of business automation involves complete workflows driven by decisions and coordination between agents, rather than isolated tasks.

Purtorab says, “Our mission at Convergence is to help organisations stop viewing automation as just another tool and instead adopt it as the very way work gets done — unlocking new levels of innovation and efficiency. Joining Salesforce is the ideal step to scale that vision.”

Jayesh Govindarajan, EVP AI/ML Engineering at Salesforce, shared that bringing Convergence into the company supports Salesforce’s AI plans in the UK.

Govindarajan adds, “London is a global leader in AI innovation, and this acquisition will lay the foundation for a growing centre of AI R&D here — one where Convergence will form the nucleus of a world-class AI lab that expands over time. With the city’s concentration of pioneering scientists and engineers, we are confident this investment will accelerate our AI strategy and bring the next wave of innovation to life.”

Salesforce expects the acquisition to close in the second quarter of its fiscal year 2026. No further transaction details have been provided.
