Corrections

Silicon Canals makes mistakes. When we do, we correct them quickly, transparently, and on the same page where the original error appeared. This page explains how we handle corrections and how to flag one.

How we correct articles

When we discover or are alerted to a factual error, we update the article on the same URL where it originally appeared. Substantive corrections, those that change the meaning or accuracy of a claim, are noted at the foot of the article along with the date of the revision. Typos, formatting issues, and minor copy edits are corrected silently without a corrections notice. We do not delete and republish articles to hide a mistake.

How to flag an error

If you spot an error in something we have published, please contact us with the article URL and a description of what you believe is incorrect. Include any supporting sources where possible. We respond to corrections requests within 48 hours and update the article with a note explaining the change.
