Barcelona-based BCN3D, a desktop 3D printer solution provider, has announced that Quantum has acquired its assets and operations.
Quantum is a newly formed company supported by private investors from the Lleida region, with connections to Industry 4.0 technology initiatives.
The deal comes after BCN3D’s voluntary bankruptcy filing in May, following a strategic realignment in response to market conditions and financial pressures.
Aim of the acquisition
Quantum is a newly formed company backed by Sorigué, Banasegur (Sabseg Group), Terberfer, and Inversions Vall, which is owned by shareholders of the Vall Companys agri-food group. It aims to ensure the growth of strategic industrial assets through long-term investment and operational management.
The acquisition of 3D printer manufacturer BCN3D has been formally approved and completed through legal proceedings. Under Quantum’s ownership, BCN3D will focus on providing 3D printing solutions for the light industrial market.
All assets of 3D printer manufacturer BCN3D, including its headquarters and production center in Lleida, remain in place and operational following the company’s acquisition by Quantum.
Quantum mentions it will continue to build on BCN3D’s existing investments, infrastructure, and portfolio, maintaining continuity across products, technologies, and brands.
The full BCN3D team remains with the company and continues regular operations, providing ongoing support to partners and customers.
