The capital for this investment comes from Marktlink Capital and private investors within Marktlink Capital’s network.

Notably, the announcement comes just a couple of weeks after raising €520M from private investors for two funds.

“Eleven is distinctive because its platform isn’t owned by a major industry player, unlike many competitors. It’s therefore flexible and well-equipped to respond to opportunities and deliver customised solutions,” says Hylke Hertoghs, managing partner of Marktlink Capital.

The US company will use the investment to expand its presence and partnerships in Europe. The investment will also expand the platform’s functionalities.

Eleven: Online fund administration platform

Founded in 2009 in New York by Eric Slaim, Eleven‘s mission is to streamline online fund administration processes.

The company does this for a wide range of funds, from hedge funds to venture capital, private equity, and real estate.

Marktlink Capital and Eleven have been working together for several years.

According to the founder, Marktlink Capital’s investment is a crucial step toward a standardised and efficient infrastructure for the trillions of private capital invested globally.

Slaim says, “This allows us to further realise our vision together: to provide the world with the most powerful, scalable, and secure technology for private investments. In this way, we make investing in private markets more digital and accessible to everyone, both the world’s largest institutions and individual investors.”

Marktlink Capital: Serves entrepreneurs and private investors

Marktlink Capital is an investment firm that serves entrepreneurs and private investors.

It helps clients access top private equity and venture capital funds in Europe and North America through various fund structures.

The company has around fifty experienced employees who specialise in private equity and venture capital.

Since its founding in 2020, the Dutch firm has raised over €2.5B from investors, mostly Dutch entrepreneurs and wealthy families.

With a minimum investment of €250,000, the firm aims to make private equity and venture capital more accessible.

Marktlink Capital is part of Marktlink, a firm that has been advising on the sale or purchase of small and medium-sized businesses since 1996.

“We are impressed by the platform’s flexibility and the portal’s user-friendliness,” says Hylke Hertoghs, managing partner of Marktlink Capital. Hertoghs cites the platform’s ability to handle both various legal entities, such as private limited companies (BVs) and limited partnerships (CVs), under Dutch law, as well as other European fund structures. The platform is also user-friendly for both Marktlink Capital employees and investors; even non-specialists can easily manage their portfolios.

Hertoghs adds, “The market for such platforms is growing. Not only because the number of funds is increasing, but also because the digitalisation of private markets is still lagging behind that of public markets. We’re now used to buying shares in an app, but large parts of the private markets still rely on paper or outdated systems.”
