Oost NL is the regional development agency of the Eastern Netherlands. The firm invests in entrepreneurs in the east of the Netherlands.
The agency strengthens the regional economy on behalf of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy and the provinces of Overijssel and Gelderland. Oost NL is active in top sectors like Food, Energy, Health, and Tech.
Matthijs Berkelaar, investment manager for Technology at Oost NL, says, “TWINport360 contributes innovatively to reducing food waste and making industrial processes more sustainable. This aligns with important societal themes such as digitisation in the manufacturing industry and the responsible use of raw materials. TWINport360 is starting in the bakery sector, but the technology is scalable to other manufacturing industries.”
The funding will help the Dutch company to roll out its technology more quickly to customers domestically and internationally, initially in the industrial bakery sector.
TWINport360: Transforming quality control in industrial bakeries
Led by Wouter Klunder, TWINport360 uses 360° full-colour 3D inspection technology to enable autonomous quality control at industrial speeds.
Instead of subjective checks, the system creates digital twins of each product, providing data-driven insights that reduce waste.
The technology supports round-the-clock inspection, helps cut food waste by up to 70 per cent, and supplies actionable data for improving production lines while reducing reliance on manual labour.
The Dutch company collaborates with renowned clients such as Aryzta (Pré Pain) and is in discussions with other international market leaders.
“Thanks to this investment, we can introduce our innovative technology to the market more quickly. Besides the investment, the expertise and network of the business angels and Oost NL are particularly valuable in shaping our further growth,” says Wouter Klunder, CEO of TWINport360.
