San Francisco-based AI company Anthropic has raised $13B (nearly €11.17B) in a Series F funding round at a $183B (€157.19B) post-money valuation led by ICONIQ Capital.

The financing was co-led by Fidelity Management & Research Company and Lightspeed Venture Partners, with participation from Altimeter, Baillie Gifford, affiliated funds of BlackRock, Blackstone, Coatue, D1 Capital Partners, General Atlantic, General Catalyst, GIC, Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives, Insight Partners, Jane Street, Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, Qatar Investment Authority, TPG, T. Rowe Price Associates, WCM Investment Management, and XN.

Divesh Makan, Partner at ICONIQ, says, “Anthropic is on an exceptional trajectory, combining research excellence, technological leadership, and relentless focus on customers. We’re honoured to partner with Dario and the team, and our lead investment in their Series F reflects our belief in their values and their ability to shape the future of responsible AI. Enterprise leaders tell us what we’re seeing firsthand—Claude is reliable, built on a trustworthy foundation, and guided by leaders truly focused on the long term.”

Capital utilisation

The Claude AI developer will use the investment to expand capacity for growing enterprise demand, deepen safety research capabilities, and support international expansion as it continues building reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems.

The funding will also accelerate the development of industry-specific products and API offerings for mission-critical business applications.

Revenue growth drives valuation surge

Anthropic has achieved remarkable financial momentum since launching Claude in March 2023. The company’s run-rate revenue reached approximately $1B by early 2025 and accelerated to over $5B by August 2025, just eight months later. According to the company, this makes Anthropic one of the fastest-growing technology companies in history.

The growth trajectory has been particularly strong in the developer segment, with Claude Code generating over $500M in run-rate revenue and experiencing 10x usage growth within three months of its full launch in May 2025. Currently, Anthropic serves over 300,000 business customers worldwide. The company’s number of large accounts (customers that each represent over $100,000 in run-rate revenue) has surged nearly 7x in the past year.

Krishna Rao, Chief Financial Officer of Anthropic, says, “From Fortune 500 companies to AI-native startups, our customers rely on Anthropic’s frontier models and platform products for their most important, mission-critical work.”

“We are seeing exponential growth in demand across our entire customer base. This financing demonstrates investors’ extraordinary confidence in our financial performance and the strength of their collaboration with us to continue fueling our unprecedented growth.”
