Post announcement, Nebius’ stock was up 51 per cent to $95.7. The Dutch company is set to add around $7.7B to its $15.3B market capitalisation, if gains hold, reports Reuters.

“We continue to believe that Nebius is well set up to bring on other high-profile customers, including other hyperscalers or frontier AI labs, as the company continues to build out their data centre capacity with upcoming greenfield opportunities,” says Alexander Platt, analyst at DA Davidson, to Reuters.

Nebius plans to finance the capital expenditures related to the contract using a combination of cash flow generated from the deal and debt issuance secured against the contract.

The Company is also evaluating several additional financing options to enable significantly faster growth than originally planned and will update the market on its financing strategy in due course.

Arkady Volozh, founder and CEO of Nebius, says, “Nebius’s core AI cloud business, serving customers from AI startups to enterprises, is performing exceptionally well. We have also said that, in addition to our core business, we expect to secure significant long-term committed contracts with leading AI labs and big tech companies.”

Similar to Nebius, Microsoft has already entered into a multibillion-dollar agreement with CoreWeave, a company that also maintains a significant contract with OpenAI for AI computing resources.
