Arizona-based Gowan Company announced that it has completed the integration of Dutch company Ceradis into the Gowan Group.
This partnership combines Gowan’s global strength in Crop Protection & Seeds with Ceradis’ expertise and capabilities in the formulation, development and registration of Crop Protection compounds.
The acquisition aims to strengthen Gowan’s presence in Europe and the Americas, enhance its R&D portfolio, and reinforce its commitment to offering tailored technical support and practical solutions to farmers.
Post acquisition, Ceradis will continue operating from its headquarters in Wageningen, Netherlands, while integrating into Gowan’s global network.
Verbitsky Capital acted as financial advisor to Gowan on the transaction, and Rabobank for Ceradis.
Ceradis: Provides environmentally friendly plant nutrition and crop protection solutions
Founded as a spin-off from Wageningen University & Research (Netherlands), Ceradis develops and commercialises environmentally friendly crop protection products and formulations.
The Dutch company has created and patented biological formulas that improve the performance of chemical ingredients. This means less chemical use per acre of farmland and fewer residues on crops, making them better for the environment.
The company also develops and patents bio-fungicides based on natural products.
The company has four product development platforms, and its first products are already being sold in many countries, in partnership with some of the world’s leading crop protection companies.
“Joining Gowan marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Ceradis,” says Willem-Jan Meulemeesters, CEO of Ceradis. “Gowan shares our deep commitment to innovation, sustainability, and providing growers with practical, science-driven solutions. Together, we will expand the reach of our biocontrol offerings, accelerating the adoption of more sustainable disease management strategies worldwide.”
