Stockholm-based Strawberry has raised funding to develop a browser that integrates AI agents to automate tasks and support users’ workflows.

Stockholm-based Strawberry, the agentic browser with built-in, personalised AI companions, has raised $6M (nearly €5.19M) in a funding round.

The Swedish company is developing a browser that allows users to focus on key tasks by automating repetitive work. It aims to provide AI tools that integrate directly into the browser and support users in their daily work.

The investment was led by General Catalyst and EQT Ventures, with participation from the founders of Lovable, Hugging Face, and Supabase.

Alongside the funding, Strawberry is launching a new version of its browser with built-in AI companions. Early access will be available to select customers, with broader onboarding planned on a rolling basis each month.

The first 10,000 sign-ups for the Beta program will receive free access.

Strawberry: The self-driving browser

Founded by Charles Maddock, Arian Hanifi, and Sebastian Thunman, Strawberry is developing a browser-based platform that allows teams to deploy AI agents.

The platform enables users to research multiple websites in parallel, generate content, and automate tasks such as data entry, meeting follow-ups, sourcing leads, and updating CRMs.

Users can create AI companions, small agents that execute tasks across platforms, including HubSpot, LinkedIn, Bullhorn, and internal dashboards. These agents operate autonomously in the browser to complete assigned tasks.

Yuri Sagalov, Partner at General Catalyst, says, “The browser is fast becoming the front line for AI, and the Strawberry team is at the centre of that shift. Their user-centric design and Charles’s ability to galvanise a community give them what we think is a leading edge to capture value in this rapidly evolving market.”

“We got to know Charles even before Strawberry was founded, and were struck by his passion for AI and sharp perspective where it was headed,” adds Sandra Malmberg, Partner, EQT Ventures. “Their ambition to build at global scale, infectious passion and ability to attract exceptional talent made it an easy decision to become their first investor,” mentions Gustav von Sydow, Partner at EQT Ventures.

Capital utilisation

Charles Maddock, CEO & co-founder of Strawberry, says, “The browser is a tool most people use daily and know intimately. By giving Strawberry powerful AI features out of the box, we’re making AI automation accessible to everyone. This funding helps us continue our mission to help modern workers love what they do and skip their busywork.”

The funding will support Strawberry’s work in engineering and design and help it update its platform for the beta community. The company is building AI companions that can handle multi-step workflows in the browser, including tasks such as market research and lead generation on platforms that require login access.
