Amsterdam-based ThePhoneLab, a provider of electronic-device repair and refurbishment services, has secured €2.5M in a two-part funding round.

The round saw participation from regional development fund ROM InWest, joining as a co-investor.

ROM InWest is the regional development agency of the Dutch province of North Holland.

It focuses on the societal transitions essential in energy, the circular economy, food, and digitalisation.

Through various accelerator programmes, ROM InWest supports these entrepreneurs in scaling up and making their solutions fundable and helps them find external financiers.

ROM InWest also invests in these companies from the SME Fund and the Transition Fund.

ROM InWest’s CEO Janet Nieboer called ThePhoneLab “a perfect example of how circular business models create long-term impact.”

The Dutch company will use the funds to scale its repair services across the Netherlands before expanding into Belgium and Germany.

The investment will also support technology development, training programs for technicians, and broader consumer awareness around sustainable repair practices.
