An entrepreneur needs to be always ready to learn new things, and Amsterdam Squared presents them with this opportunity. It is a fully digital platform, which is online and offers relevant content, e-learning opportunities, along with an online community, and a large sum of Startupbootcamp’s exclusive deals from companies such as Amazon Web Services and Freshworks. It is worth noting that the platform, as mentioned earlier features, is integrated via Startupbootcamp’s digital accelerator platform, Accelerator Squared.

Registration for Amsterdam Squared is now open for everyone, and you can apply for it here.

Accelerator Squared developed as an internal startup

Accelerator Squared is enabling a whole host of platform features for Amsterdam Squared. However, one might perceive Accelerated Squared as an entity that started out of the blue. But the digital platform was developed as an internal startup within Startupbootcamp within the last 18 months. It was created to disrupt even the standard Startupbootcamp accelerator program, which admits ten startups per cohort.

Startupbootcamp’s Co-founder and CEO Patrick de Zeeuw asked a small group of the Startupbootcamp team members, to develop a digital platform capable of supporting and potentially disrupting Startupbootcamp’s regular accelerators. Kauan von Novack, who runs SBC’s digital transformation, led the team. De Zeeuw envisioned a new completely-digital program that will support founders globally on a much larger scale, without needing them to relocate to a specific city where the programs are running.

Patrick de Zeeuw says, “This year we’ll run our 100th Startupbootcamp accelerator program. Itmeans that Startupbootcamp has made 1.000 investments in startups and scaleups across the globe since 2010. Eighteen months ago, we started working on Startupbootcamp’s ‘digital transformation’. The goal of our digital transformation is to help 1 million startups, and scaleups grow and make an impact within the next ten years.”

Digitising the ‘founders journey’

Several of Startupbootcamp’s offline program elements are said to be repetitive for every cohort, which means some of these can be delivered digitally. With Amsterdam Squared, the main aim is to digitise the so-called ‘founders journey’ which ranges from starting a company to scaling it up and exiting.

Bas Beekman, Director of StartupAmsterdam, comments: “At StartupAmsterdam we are proud to support initiatives like Startupbootcamp’s Accelerator Squared. This partnership will allow us to help Amsterdam-based startups and scaleups on a larger scale by combining digitalization and the power of a local ecosystem. This unique collaboration brings something new to the table by offering a community space ‘from Amsterdam for Amsterdam’ and keeps the city inclusive and open for young entrepreneurs.

Accelerator Squared is also said to have attracted considerable interest from governments worldwide, which aim to support their local startup and scaleup ecosystem. The partnership between StartupAmsterdam, Smart Health Amsterdam, and Startupbootcamp’s Accelerator Squared sheds light on the government’s effort to help grow startups and scaleups.
