Slinger

Founder/s: Marvin Pupping, Mark de Vries

Founded in: 2021

Slinger is an Amsterdam-based company that aims to address the significant environmental impact of transportation associated with sports events and festivals.

In the Netherlands, over one billion kilometres are travelled annually to reach such gatherings, with transport accounting for 60 to 85 per cent of their CO2 emissions. Unfortunately, just half of the seats in attendees’ vehicles are utilised.

Slinger offers a solution by introducing a widget for event websites that minimises the carbon footprint tied to these occasions and enables meaningful connections among visitors.

Leveraging the widget, event organisers can connect event attendees and encourage them to carpool together, extending and creating a more enjoyable and sustainable event experience.

This user-friendly widget can be effortlessly integrated into the organisation’s website within just five minutes, facilitating connections between visitors interested in sharing rides.

This approach not only reduces CO2 emissions and travel costs, but also provides insights into attendees’ travel behaviours by adding a layer of valuable information to event organisers.

The widget has already undergone rigorous testing and has been embraced by major names in the entertainment industry, including the likes of Johan Cruijff ArenA, KNVB, MOJO, Eredivisie, and Keuken Kampioen divisie.

Funding expectations: With Seed funding anticipated by the summer of 2024, Slinger is actively seeking a visionary angel and/or impact investor to spearhead their expansion into the European market, underscoring their commitment to a sustainable and impactful growth journey.

In summary, Slinger is poised for success, armed with a clear vision, industry recognition, and a trailblazing solution that’s reshaping events while championing environmental responsibility.
