Amsterdam-based Aevai Health, a developer of a clinical tool designed for remote patient data monitoring, announced that it has secured undisclosed funding from student-run VC fund Round One.
With the new capital, the Amsterdam-based startup plans to extend its reach to biobanks throughout the Netherlands and expand into other market opportunities.
Fennie van der Graaf, CEO of Aevai Health says, “This initial investment is a crucial step for us. It not only supports the success of our current pilot but also propels us towards acquiring our next major customer.”
Aevai Health: Enabling biobanks to achieve efficient data collection
Founded by Fennie van der Graaf (CEO), Alexandra Matei (CFO), Naila Loudini (CMO), and Giuseppe Marinelli (CTO), Aevai Health aims to optimize data capture and make data collection more engaging in clinical and research settings.
Typically, biobanks collect biological samples and health information from participants for use in research.
The Dutch company is at the forefront with its intelligent chatbot, Alva, to increase the efficiency of how biobanks collect participants’ data both remotely and onsite.
Naila Loudini, a co-founder and CMO, says, “With Alva, we are doing more than improving data collection; we are giving participants a significant role in medical research. This approach not only improves the quality of research but also makes the process much more inclusive.'”
Participants receive context-driven interactions through continuous, personalized support and hybrid functionality that combines user assistance with AI-driven data collection.
Alva uses conversational AI techniques to help patients follow protocols and report data accurately. The data is processed in real time to facilitate evidence-based decision-making.
Alva streamlines biobank data collection, notably reducing staff workload in key areas:
- Automates data entry
- Scales participant management
- Empowers the staff
The Dutch company provides Alva through their web application or can integrate it with users’ EDC, ePRO, or EHR. They continuously assess and update security practices to maintain high data protection standards.
