Amsterdam-based beSirius, a company specialised in sustainability management tools, has secured €3M in an oversubscribed seed round led by NAP.
Other investors, including Fund F, Techstars, WEPA Ventures, Blackwood, and Golden Egg Check, participated in the round.
The Dutch company will use the funds to improve its role in supply chains, audit networks, and financial institutions, creating better support for sustainability, procurement, and commercial teams.
“We’re in the middle of the “death of ESG reporting” wave, operating in one of the most strategic industries for energy, defense, and geopolitics — and we’re AI too,” says Thomas Mensink, CEO & VC at Golden Egg Check.
beSirius: Bringing AI-driven sustainability to metal and mining
Founded by Anastasia Kuskova, Seva Martynov, and Sergey Tyan, beSirius offers a full-cycle technology stack for Chief Sustainability Officers (CSOs) to promote sustainability in the metals and mobility sectors, which are crucial players in the energy transition.
The platform addresses the challenges CSOs face to drive sustainability initiatives, automates repetitive tasks, calculates ROI, and provides a detailed toolkit for easy implementation.
The company’s “Sustainability Twin” aggregates all sustainability data in one accessible profile.
In addition to automating the process of sharing data, Sirius has also developed an AI that acts as a digital copilot for sustainability teams.
“It answers requests from investors, regulators, and customers automatically — in the format they need when they need it,” says the company.
The platform enhances the sustainability team’s efficiency, automates data sharing, and offers insights into stakeholder needs, speeding up the sector’s transition to sustainable practices.
In an interview with Silicon Canals, Kuskova adds that Sirius allows sustainability leaders to focus on strategic initiatives that make a difference, “aligning with our approach of delivering real, impactful solutions.”
In addition to helping sustainability leaders quantify their efforts, Sirius also helps manage supply chain decarbonisation and Scope 3 emissions, she adds.
From metal and mining companies to automotive and electronics producers, Kuskova says Sirius plays an important role for companies at both ends of the metal supply chain.
Currently, the company’s tool is already used by global leaders in the mineral value chain, including Freeport-McMoRan, FLSmidth, Telf, and ArcelorMittal.
“The industries we serve power the energy transition, AI, technology, and defense. They move fast, under pressure, on thin margins. They can’t afford to wait for static reports. We’re building the system that lets them move in real-time — with clarity, confidence, and speed to capture value,” says the company.
