Amsterdam-based SOUS, a commerce platform that empowers chefs, restaurants, and food entrepreneurs, has secured an undisclosed investment in a latest funding round led by PeakBridge alongside Gekko Capital Partners.

Gekko Capital Partners is a venture arm of the Gekko Group that focuses on early-stage lifestyle startups in Europe. Using their expertise and network in hospitality, travel, fashion, and beauty, the venture arm aims to support and invest in promising companies.

The announcement comes at a time when SOUS merchants have generated an additional €10M in sales and serve more than 300,000 customers.

Besides funding, Gekko Capital Partners will help bring SOUS to the German market and support its pan-European expansion.

The investment comes six months after raising undisclosed funding from PeakBridge, he global foodtech venture capital fund backed by Edmond de Rothschild Private Equity and industry leaders in April 2025.

SOUS: Digital commerce for independent F&B entrepreneurs

Devon Scoulelis and Thomas Scholte founded SOUS after noticing that many chefs and food entrepreneurs wanted to increase their earnings by selling online, but lacked the time, tools, or technical skills to do so effectively.

“We saw talented food and beverage entrepreneurs doing everything manually—juggling disconnected systems, delivering orders themselves, and wasting time on admin instead of what they do best,” says Thomas Scholte, Co-founder, in an interview with Silicon Canals.

Established in 2022, SOUS is a commerce platform that empowers chefs, restaurants, and food entrepreneurs to launch, manage, and scale online businesses without needing a tech team.

“We were tapping into a much bigger shift: a growing, underserved € 100 B+ market of independent food and beverage creators—restaurants, chefs, caterers, and artisanal brands—all looking to grow beyond traditional channels,” adds Thomas.

From meal kits for delivery and pickup to products, experiences, and digital storefronts, SOUS provides the tools to launch, manage, and grow it all in one place.

By eliminating intermediaries, the Dutch company gives creators full ownership of their brand and operations, simplifying how they launch, scale, and sustain online businesses.

Additionally, the company is planning to expand into new categories like chef-at-home services, culinary experiences, subscriptions, gift cards, and more.
