Last update:

Co-founders Jake Grayston and Tiffany van Driel announced on Thursday, April 13, the launch of atem, a new talent partner platform for impactful tech founders and their investors.

Based out of Amsterdam, atem aims to improve the process of building leadership teams, which can be an incredibly expensive, time-consuming, and error-prone process.

The problem

“The problem with building leadership teams is that 40 per cent of leadership hires fail within the first 18 months, and founders are not getting the right support to build world-class teams,” says Tiffany van Driel, co-founder of atem.

The incentives in executive search are not aligned with the right outcomes and truly supporting founders.

Atem’s solution

Atem has been purpose-built differently to address this issue.

The company works on a subscription basis as fractional talent partners, “embedding themselves into clients’ businesses to build long-term value.”

- A message from our partner -

Atem ensures that founders have the right leaders in the right roles, fit for the next stage of their journey.

“We’ve been there and done it and we’re better because of it. Between us we’ve built and scaled some of the most successful companies of a generation – Uber, Netflix & earlier stage startups,” adds van Driel.

The Dutch platform offers the benefit of an in-house exec search team without the cost or commitment.

“We are high conviction and low volume, meaning Jake and I deliver everything ourselves. We buy into your vision and invest when the time is right,” she adds.

“We have a now, next & later version of atem and we’re excited to see this evolve,” she says.

Three-pronged approach

The Dutch company addresses with three-pronged approach:

NOW – Focuses on building leadership teams with the purpose

NEXT – This phase involves becoming a value-add venture partner, investing in clients’ companies, and helping them scale

LATER – In this phase, the Dutch startup aims to create a verticalised community of the best company builders across Europe, powered by AI in a web3 world.
