On Friday, Antwerp, Belgium-based ADLC, a drone logistics company, announced that it has raised €2.08M in seed funding led by Galactic Beacon Ventures (GBV).

Galactic Beacon Ventures is the dedicated venture capital arm of the Columbia Group. The VC specialises in numerous sectors across the maritime, logistics, energy, and leisure sphere.

“We believe the time is right for drone logistics to transform the maritime and offshore industry. Recent advancements in drone technology, combined with new regulatory frameworks, have created a favourable environment for the widespread adoption of drone delivery. Their work in the Port of Antwerp is a perfect example of how drones can deliver real value to industrial operations,” says Kyriakos Vlachos, Chief Investment Officer at Galactic Beacon Ventures.

Other participating investors include LRM, Port of Antwerp-Bruges, and NXT II, with the support of PwC – Next Level as financial/fundraising advisors and Van Olmen & Wynant as legal advisors.

Fund utilisation

The company will use the funds to accelerate its international expansion, delivering drone logistics services in key ports and offshore energy sites worldwide.

“Our goal is to make industrial drone logistics as reliable and commonplace as traditional forms of transportation,” says Rayan Quintaes, ADLC’s Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer. “We are excited to partner with forward-thinking investors like GBV, LRM, Port of Antwerp-Bruges, and NXT II who share our vision for a more efficient, sustainable future.”

ADLC: Solving inefficiencies with drones

Led by Rayan Quintaes, ADLC uses drone technology to provide logistics services, helping companies implement drone-based solutions without needing to manage them in-house.

The company focuses on improving last-mile delivery in maritime and offshore areas.

Currently, ADLC operates drone delivery services at the Port of Antwerp in partnership with SGS, a testing and certification organisation, and works with clients like BASF.

Its drones have cut delivery times and decreased environmental impact, increasing efficiency by six times and reducing CO2 emissions by up to 80 per cent for petrochemical sample deliveries.
