BGF, Ireland’s growth capital investor, has invested €4M in Eventmaster, a ticketing platform based in Limerick. This investment will result in BGF acquiring a minority stake in the company.
BGF’s investment was led by Joe Higgins, who will assume a Director role on the board, and Aoife McAdam, who will serve as an Observer. Feargal Mooney, a seasoned executive and board director with extensive experience, will join as Non-Executive Chair.
John Cleary, who founded Eventmaster in 2010, will remain as Eventmaster’s CEO and majority shareholder.
Cleary says, “This investment from BGF marks a significant step forward for Eventmaster. We have a great team within Eventmaster and an excellent existing client base. Now, with BGF, and Feargal Mooney as our new Chair, we are well positioned to accelerate our growth. The future looks very bright and very exciting.”

Capital utilisation
The funds will help Eventmaster ramp up its growth trajectory by boosting sales and marketing efforts, expanding its team through new hires, and extending its platform’s reach across Ireland and the UK.
Commenting on the deal, BGF investor Joe Higgins, says, “Eventmaster is one of the most impressive tech companies we have seen in the Irish market. Over the past 14 years, they have carved out a leadership position in the Irish market, and they have exciting plans for expansion here and further afield.”
“BGF is delighted to support them on this journey, and to help John and his team realise their huge potential.”
