Rotterdam-based VertiDrive, a company that designs safe, environmentally friendly and cost-effective robotic solutions, announced on Tuesday, March 28, that it has been acquired by US-based BlastOne.
For more than five years, BlastOne, a supplier of blasting and painting equipment and supplies, has been acting as a sales partner for VertiDrive.
Founded in 2008, VertiDrive is a robotics firm that specialises in the creation of advanced abrasive blasting robots. Their machines automate the blasting process, increasing output and effectiveness across a range of sectors.
VertiDrive says the acquisition will assist the company in supplying and supporting performance-maximised automated blasting setups globally through the existing and future BlastOne branches.
Following the UN Sustainable Development Goals, VertiDrive aims to provide sustainable solutions for the marine, offshore, and tank storage sectors by improving safety, lowering environmental hazards, and using less fuel.
Stefan van Diessen, MD of VertiDrive, says, โWe believe this partnership will allow us to accelerate the development and deployment of our robots, and we are looking forward to working with the talented team at BlastOne.โ
Aim of this acquisition
With this deal, BlastOne says it will be able to provide clients with better assistance and options for automating their blasting and painting operations.
The addition of VertiDriveโs robotics technology will enhance BlastOneโs ability to serve a wide range of industries, including shipbuilding, ship refurbishment, chemical industries, heavy fabrication, and infrastructure.
Matthew Rowland, CEO of BlastOne, says, โWe are excited to welcome VertiDrive to the BlastOne family. Their cutting-edge robotics technology is a perfect complement to our existing product line, and we believe it will be a valuable asset as we continue to grow and serve our customers.โ
