Delft-based Carice BV, a company that develops ‘stylish’ electric cars, announced the launch of a brand-new electric automobile, Carice TC2, created and manufactured in the Netherlands.

The company says the Carice TC2 is a compact and sporty convertible.

Carice mentions in a statement that the automobile will be unveiled to the public for the first time in the following weeks after the initial photographs posted today.

The automobile will be on display for the first time during the finish event of the Tulpenrallye on Saturday, May 13, at Château St Gerlach in Valkenburg, The Netherlands.

“Art on Wheels”

Niels van Dril and Richard Holleman, founders of Carice, say, “With the Carice TC2 we want to create art on wheels. Elegant, environmentally friendly, agile and handmade.”

“We distilled the car to its purest form and everything that’s in there has been created with love and an eye for detail. We’ve brought the essence back into driving, with a car of only 630kg and a range of more than 300 km. It’s about feeling the ride in every fibre of your body.”

The company says that because the Carice TC2 starts at 630 kg including the battery pack, it has ‘exceptionally’ sporty handling. And because of the weight, power consumption is also quite low. As a result, the small motor brings a ‘dynamic ride’ with a good range.

The Carice TC2, with Dutch origins, combines modern technology and handcrafted craftsmanship. Carice BV claims it has put a lot of effort into its new automobile and growing its manufacturing over the last few years.

Since 2011, Carice has been making electric automobiles, however, in small quantities. They made the decision to create a new automobile and build up a whole production line in order to be able to satisfy demand.

The company now independently produces automobiles in series in order to maintain internal quality and consistency controls. “We’re passionate about creating beautiful cars that make people happy,” adds Van Dril and Holleman.

The first batch of Carice TC2, which customers who placed orders during the development phase, were guaranteed and have already been sold out.

For those interested in the Carice TC2, the company says it is already taking reservations for the upcoming production series. The Carice TC2 will only be made in small numbers and is offered for €44,500 excluding VAT (€53,854 including 21 per cent btw/Dutch tax).

The Carice TC2 complies with European rules and can thus be driven in all EU countries and countries that adopt those standards.
