Amsterdam-based Catalosite, a website-building software provider, announced on Tuesday that it has raised the first investment ticket of its 200k pre-seed round. Further, the the Dutch startups is seeking investors to raise funds as well.
Catalosite says it will use the funds to grow its current customer base further in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, and expand activities in the Netherlands.
Helps companies make great first impression
Founded by Aly Buydoon and Rabih ABOU EID, Catalosite provides website-building software for businesses, entrepreneurs, and creators.
Currently, the Dutch company helps over 150 businesses create websites that look like social media feeds.
Catalosite claims that it is over three times more effective in terms of time spent on a page.
Why?
Because, compared to the traditional website, Catalosite contains consecutive posts of media (images/videos), fewer texts, and more whitespaces.
This decreases the time needed to choose the design templates and work on the UI/UX, thus accelerating the creation and maintenance later.
In addition, sites built on Catalosite are easier to create, edit and maintain than traditional websites.
“Traditional websites built with the available tools in the market are not engaging visitors as effectively as they used to do because they were originally built for desktop websites, then optimised for mobile use,” says Aly Buydoon, CEO and co-founder of Catalosite.
“It’s time for a change. We created a system that builds websites as effortlessly as posting on social media, with the same level of excitement and creativity,” adds Buydoon.
At present, Catalosite offers free and paid subscription models:
- Free subscription includes unlimited posts
- Paid subscription at €14.99/ Month or €149.90/ Year provides unlimited posts, a free domain name with an SSL certificate, the ability to connect to an external domain name, SEO optimisation, and website analytics.
The Dutch startup received support and mentorship from prominent organisations like ACE incubator – the university business incubator in Amsterdam.
It was also accelerated by Forward-inc., an Amsterdam-based, internationally operating organisation devoted to helping newcomers become entrepreneurs.
The Dutch startup was also part of the newcomers’ mentorship programme led by Boston Consulting Group (BCG) to support international entrepreneurs in Amsterdam.
What the investor has to say
Gijs Marbus, Principal at Wing Invest, states, “Amsterdam is a breeding ground for international entrepreneurs from every background. With the business knowledge that comes with our investment, we support international talent with revolutionary ideas and help them start their ventures in the city, bridging the gap between cultures, and helping them expand globally.”
“Catalosite’s easy-to-use technology, the team’s collective creativity, and its members are fantastic, and people should pay attention,” adds Marbus.
