Barcelona-based Loyal Guru, a customer data platform that aims to transform retailers into customer-centric organisations, announced on Thursday that it has raised an additional €8M in its Series A round of funding.
The proceeds from this round will help the company expand its services across Europe and the Americas, and continue to develop its solution. Loyal Guru claims to have witnessed 2X growth since its launch in 2016.
Borja Sanfeliu, CEO and co-founder of Loyal Guru, says, “We are delighted with this second round of investment, having bootstrapped the business until 2019. Our new partner, Nauta Capital, brings deep B2B SaaS expertise and a team that has worked across our core European market. They are extremely well aligned to our business, and their expertise and support will be vital as we continue to help retailers and grocers around the world boost their growth.”
Investors in this round
The current round was led by Nauta Capital and supported by existing investor Greycroft.
Jordi Vinas, Partner at Nauta Capital, says, “Loyal Guru has already demonstrated a strong track record of innovation and growth. The retail market is ripe for digital transformation, but lacks solutions specifically built with retailers in mind: we are confident that Loyal Guru is well placed to seize the opportunities on offer as it creates a unique, customer-centric approach to retail across all channels.”
Built for retailers to activate loyalty
Founded by Borja Sanfeliu and Javier Fernandez Riverola, Loyal Guru allows retailers to manage their omnichannel customer data with a single view, and to create personalised loyalty and engagement campaigns that drive growth and strengthen brand allegiance.
The company’s solution enables retailers to “gather, cleanse, store, enrich, and distribute” customer data from all possible sources. This data helps them to create micro-segments based on purchase behaviour and launch 1-on-1 personalised offers and loyalty programmes, improving consumer-retailer relationships across every channel: point of sale, e-commerce, customer support, and emails.
Loyal Guru claims that it is the first platform built to accommodate the huge volume of data specific to the retail industry, data that stems from millions of customers, thousands of SKUs, and hundreds of product categories.
Currently servicing 50 customers in 12 countries, the company drives transformational change for customers including Mango, Dia Group, Cencosud, and Spar.
