Zurich-based Verve Ventures, a network and technology-driven venture capital firm, announced on Wednesday, June 7, that it has raised an undisclosed amount in a Series C round of funding from several high-profile investors.
Verve Ventures also announced that Martin Scholl, former CEO of Zürcher Kantonalbankk (Switzerland’s third-largest bank), will join Verve Ventures’ board of directors.
“I am fascinated by venture capital as an investor and want to help others discover it for themselves. By joining Verve’s board of directors, I want to signal to everyone out there that Verve is a company I believe in personally. Verve is a company you can trust and should know if you want to invest in startups,” says Scholl.

Verve Ventures was founded in 2010 by Steffen Wagner and Lukas Weber to make startup investments easier and more transparent.
The company Verve Capital Partners (VCP), which runs Verve Ventures, is backed by business angels and Zürcher Kantonalbank.
The Swiss company has invested in 170 science- and technology-driven startups from the seed stage onward. Currently, the company’s assets under management exceed $300M.

Through Verve, startups get access to a large and sophisticated network of private and institutional investors that help them win new clients and hire top talent.
Verve has offices in Zurich, Paris, and Berlin, and a 50-person team.

In April, Verve Ventures teamed up with independent Swiss private bank Bergos to offer qualified private investors exclusive access to selected European startups.
With the partnership, Bergos will become one of the few private banks in the Swiss financial center to offer investors opportunities to invest in venture capital.
