Last update:

France-based Cube AI, an AI employee for logistics, has secured $2.5M (approximately €2.29M) in a pre-seed round of funding to automate back-office work in logistics companies.

The investment was led by VentureFriends and included contributions from investors such as K5 Global, Olivier Pomel (Datadog), Florian Douetteau (Dataiku), and others.

Boosting back-office logistics efficiency

Launched six months ago, Cube AI aims to modernise third-party logistics providers (3PL) by automating the outdated, slow and complex manual tasks involved in freight movement.

Cube claims that its autonomous AI agent automates 70 per cent of back-office tasks like replying to routine emails and manual data entry, reducing operating costs by over two-thirds.

The AI agent automates these mechanical tasks, allowing operators to focus on building relationships and managing exceptions. The AI can process any email, understand its context, and automate data extraction, responses to RFPs, and standard communications.

Louis de Benoist, CEO of Cube AI, says, “Logistics is the backbone economy. The cost of back-office work in this industry globally exceeds 115 billion. AI has the power to reduce that cost and bring better access to goods and healthcare around the world.”

“Not only are we able to help our current customers cut operational cost, we can also help them offer better service and win more business.”

Cube AI was founded by Victor Plaisance, Louis de Benoist and Sacha Ichbiah, a team of AI researchers and entrepreneurs from institutions such as École Polytechnique, Cambridge, HEC, and ESCP.

The company mentions that major logistics companies in France and Europe have already adopted its first product, helping streamline back-office operations. As a result, customers can process orders six times faster, eliminate data transfer errors, and book more freight.

Currently, Cube AI is recruiting engineers to join its mission and help deliver its product to customers globally.
