Last update:

Cybersecurity is very much on the rise in the Dutch startup ecosystem recently. It’s not just the Startupbootcamp Fintech & Cybersecurity program that re-opened applications after its first batch graduated a short while ago. Some prominent startups raised impressive growth capital rounds, and another renowned scale-up won a prestigious award. Time to take a closer look.

Startup Deal of the Year for EclecticIQ

EclecticIQ is one of the more renowned Dutch startups battling for a safer web, by means of sophisticated cyber threat analysis. As we reported last year, the company raised a whopping €5.5M from Inkef Capital. As it turns out, that seemed like a pretty good deal to other investors. They awarded EclecticIQ with the Startup Deal of the Year-award, beating Bynder (€20M), InvoiceFinance (€3.4M), Recruitz (€2M), and HotelChamp (€1.75M).

Zivver raises €3M from Henq

Dutch investor Henq poured €3M in  cybersecurity startup Zivver. Its software allows organizations and private individuals to email, chat, and share (very large) files in a secure environment. The software contributes to growing awareness of the risks related to sensitive information and helps prevent data leaks. Zivver provides its users with active support by giving targeted warnings and employing simple security measures.

Cybersprint banked €700k

Another Dutch cybersecurity startup, Cybersprint, led by CEO Pieter Jansen (pictured above) raised €700.000 from regional investment firm InnovationQuarter and two informals. The company, located at the Hague Security Delta since last year, wants to make the world wide web a safer place by offering companies insight into all their publicly accessible websites. It also monitors social media and the Dark Web for malicious activities aimed at its clients.

Cybersecurity accelerator

Startupbootcamp Amsterdam opened up applications today for their 3-month FinTech & CyberSecurity program that seeks to provide “the most promising startups in the world with a top-notch accelerator program”. In micro-events called Fasttracks, SBC travels through Europe to meet startups, starting in Rome tomorrow. Apply here.
