London-based Deloitte, a management consultancy company, organised its 25th edition of Deloitte Technology Fast 50 2024, an annual ranking recognising fast-growing technology startups in the Netherlands for their exceptional growth performance.

In 2024, DataSnipper, an Amsterdam-based intelligent automation company, claimed the top spot as the champion for the second consecutive time. The Dutch company took the top spot with revenue growth of 6715 per cent.

Founded by Maarten Alblas and Jonas Ruyter, DataSnipper provides auditors with an intelligent automation platform that increases the quality and efficiency of common audit procedures. The company claims that its automation features, embedded into Excel, empower external auditors to do their work quickly and accurately.

The Dutch unicorn takes the crown a couple of weeks after announcing two key developments — the acquisition of UpLink, a secure cloud-based document request platform, and the launch of DocuMine, an AI-driven document validation tool.

Additionally, the DataSnipper announced the appointment of Carrie Bosworth as its first CRO.

Here are the companies that secured the second and third positions, respectively.

The Dutch company has created a patented 3D technology that directs connections vertically.  This innovation enables the scaling of superconducting quantum processors to thousands of qubits, which could lead to the ‘quantum advantage’.

“Dutch startups and scale-ups excel in innovation, but face challenges as internationalisation and funding come under pressure. At a time when AI is rapidly gaining ground, these companies are showing resilience and a willingness to embrace new ideas and technologies,” said Marieke ‘t Hart, Rising Star Award jury member and Partner at Deloitte.

“The Deloitte Technology Fast 50 celebrates both established growth diamonds and rising stars and provides a platform for innovation and entrepreneurship by bringing together key players in the Dutch tech scene,” adds Hart.

The Deep Tech Award 2024: Qblox

Founder/s: Niels Bultink and Jules Van Oven

Qblox is a provider of scalable and modular quantum control stack — Cluster. The cluster combines key technologies for qubit control and readout with a modular solution supporting a wide variety of customers and qubit platforms.

Two new additional awards

This year, Delloite introduced two additional awards for this 25th edition of our Technology Fast 50:

  • Diverse & Inclusive Leadership Award: This award recognises companies that embed diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) at the core of their culture.
  • Sustainability Pioneer Award: This award honors scale-ups making significant impacts on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Below are the winners of these two awards:

Diverse & Inclusive Leadership Award:  Fastned

HQ: Amsterdam

Founder/s: Michiel Langezaal and Bart Lubbers

Fastned claims to be a major player in developing fast-charging infrastructure for electric vehicles (EVs) across Europe. With over 280 fast charging stations in several European countries, the company enables EV users to charge their vehicles with up to 300 km of range in just 15 minutes.

The Dutch company won the award for its focus on gender diversity, targeting 30 per cent female representation on its boards and including diverse skills and backgrounds in its decision-making.

Sustainability Pioneer: Gradyent

HQ: Rotterdam

CEO: Herve Huisman

Gradyent is a green tech startup that has developed software based on the Digital Twin technology. A digital copy of the physical heat system combines geographical, weather, and sensor data with physical models and AI.

The platform then analyses customer heat demand on a granular basis. It combines this information with hydraulic and thermo-dynamic losses within the network, providing optimal input for different heat sources within the network.

The Digital Twin technology then matches customer demand and heat production optimally, resulting in lower energy losses and emission reductions.
