Berlin-based deeploi, creators of an all-in-one IT management platform for SMEs, announced that it has secured $6.5M (approximately €5.97M) in a Seed round of funding.
European VC Atomico led the round, and existing investor Cherry Ventures also participated. With this deal, Atomico partner Andreas Helbig joins deeploi’s board.
Atomico Partner Andreas Helbig says, “Simple and safe IT management is mission-critical for all businesses. The status quo, where SMEs either have to outsource to Managed Service Providers (MSPs) or overwhelm and overburden their “accidental IT owner”, can’t be the future.”
“Both founders of deeploi have known this problem first-hand: Julian through his experience of scaling businesses like McMakler and Philipp as the owner of an MSP, where he saw what was missing from the industry.”
“We have been massively impressed by what they have built in not even a year since founding the company, and couldn’t be happier that they picked Atomico to be a partner on their journey,” adds Helbig.
Following a €3M pre-seed round in March 2023, deeploi has expanded, gaining 30+ customers and growing to 20+ employees across two offices.
“Turning IT pain into peace”
In the face of rising cyber threats and costly data breaches, businesses require effective IT solutions. However, existing tools often fall short, addressing only specific aspects and catering to full-time IT professionals.
This leaves SMEs, lacking dedicated IT staff, grappling with friction, security risks, and expenses in managing their tech infrastructure.
Atomico’s analysis reveals that 60 per cent of Germany’s 550,000 SMEs with 20-150 employees rely on non-experts for IT management, creating challenges as technology complexities increase. This is where deeploi looks to make a difference.
Founded in 2023 by Julian Lübke and Philipp Hoffman, deeploi‘s tailored platform comprehensively addresses IT needs, streamlining tasks from on- and offboarding to device management, compliance, and cybersecurity.
Users attest to significant efficiency gains, with onboarding times reduced from hours to minutes and an estimated 80 per cent less time spent on IT overall. The platform is backed by a responsive expert support team, resolving ticket issues in under 30 minutes.
Julian Lübke, co-founder of deeploi says, “For businesses without a specialist IT function and the “accidental IT admin” left to fill in, it can be a struggle just to ensure everyone’s laptop, software and security is up to scratch. Automating these tasks saves businesses time and money, boosting productivity and growth.”
Capital utilisation
deeploi will use the funds to fuel its expansion across product development, engineering, IT support, and go-to-market teams. The focus includes enhancing the platform to align with the tech stacks of modern, cloud-native companies that deeploi caters to.
Philipp Hoffman, deeploi co-founder says, “As the provider of IT management services in a past life, I saw how much stress IT management could cause and how much resource it consumed.”
“But good IT is what keeps businesses running in the modern world. So I’m proud that we’re able to offer a holistic product that cuts costs – not quality.”
