Delft-based Renset, a clean tech startup, has secured €600K to accelerate the adoption of clean, mobile battery systems for the construction industry.

The investment round was led by Vliegwiel Impact, with continued support from Barry McNicholas, David Beaty, and Pieter van ’t Veer, all returning investors from previous rounds.

With this fresh capital, Renset plans to scale up production and expand deployment as demand for sustainable energy solutions in heavy industries grows rapidly.

What does Renset solve?

Construction sites, NUTS companies, and festivals often use diesel and petrol generators for power.

These generators are loud, wasteful, and release harmful carbon dioxide (CO₂), which can harm the environment and worker health.

A common 5 kVA diesel generator produces about 50 kg of CO₂ emissions daily and only converts 40 per cent of fuel into electricity.

This inefficiency, along with high maintenance costs, makes operations more expensive and relies heavily on fuel availability due to the need for storage and logistics.

Renset: Revolutionising the portable energy industry

Founded by Teun van ‘t Veer and Stijn van ‘t Veer, Renset offers a lightweight, portable battery system designed for construction sites, utilities, and festivals.

Weighing around 50 kg, the company’s waterproof battery is easy to transport and set up.

Unlike traditional diesel and petrol generators that are noisy and produce harmful CO₂ emissions, Renset’s system is emission-free and efficient.

It also features swappable battery packs, allowing users to quickly replace a depleted battery with a fully charged one.

The modular design includes four slots for 1 kWh battery modules, providing a maximum capacity of 4 kWh.

As a result, it allows users to adjust the power supply to meet their specific needs.

“We embrace continuous innovation and aim to develop technologies and solutions that are environmentally responsible and contribute to a circular economy. We believe in the power of creativity and innovation to drive sustainable progress,” says the company.
