Meet the six finalists of Draper’s Silicon Spring Pitch Competition

Eindhoven-based LUMO Labs, in collaboration with its local ecosystem partners and Draper University, announced the six startup finalists for Draper’s Silicon Spring Pitch Competition.

An international group of finalists from Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands were selected by the jury members from dozens of applications. 

The six finalists include: 

  • Beyond Weather –  Beyond Weather uses AI technology and climate expertise to offer precise weather and impact forecasts. 
  • Hoursec – Hoursec is an innovative machine learning architecture that has the potential to reduce data requirements for training learning algorithms by up to 80%. It is capable of performing both training and inference on the same chip, making it a breakthrough technology in the semiconductor industry. opportunities.
  • match.care – Fighting the shortage of nurses by providing a fully digital solution.
  • moonbird – The startup has created an innovative, sleek, and compact tool to help slow down breathing while monitoring heart rate through a handheld device that is connected to an app
  • Struck – STRUCK helps architects and developers prioritise creativity while minimising compliance tasks. Using genAI technology and industry expertise, STRUCK simplifies complexity, reduces workload, and ensures 100% compliant projects. This expedites permit approval and streamlines project completion.
  • Tenbeo – Tenbeo provides advanced biometrics technology – based on people’s Heart Signature – to prevent unauthorized access, identity theft, and financial fraud. 

What is Draper’s Silicon Spring Pitch Competition?

It is an in-person competition that will bring together a diverse group of talented founders ready to pitch their startups to a panel of esteemed judges. 

Whether you’re a participant or just looking to be inspired, this event is sure to be a hub of creativity and innovation. 

Founders who win the Golden Ticket get the chance to join Draper University’s Hero Training Program in Silicon Valley.

The prize package includes flight costs, on-campus accommodation, and co-working space in downtown San Mateo, California, USA. 

This five-week entrepreneurship program includes eight modules, numerous speaker sessions, workshops, and team activities.

The finals

The finals of Draper’s Silicon Spring Pitch Prize will take place on Monday, May 13th at the Conference Center High Tech Campus.

Each of the six selected finalists is allowed two attendants, including one presenter, who will pitch on stage, and one supporter who can contribute to the Q&A with the jury after the pitch. 

Each pitch can be no longer than five minutes. The maximum duration of the Q&A after each pitch is ten minutes.

Criteria for startups

Startups founded less than five years ago that focus on software or smart hardware are currently in the customer validation or market entry phase. 

They should be innovative, scalable, and impact-driven, both financially and socially, and based in the Netherlands, Belgium, or Germany.

Brief about LUMO Labs

Founded in 2016 by Andy Lürling and Sven Bakkes, LUMO Labs supports impact-driven software startups through their LUMO Fund II, a multi-stage capital fund (from pre-seed to series A) with a two-year venture builder programme. 

This programme aims to help portfolio companies achieve financial success and social traction and impact.
