Last update:

Oneteam, a Rotterdam-based employee experience platform formerly known as Flex-Appeal, raised over $1M in a new investment round from a series of successful tech entrepreneurs.

The investors include Adriaan Mol (Mollie), Max Klijnstra and Milan Daniels (Otrium), Perry Oostdam and Pawel Smocyzk (Recruitee), Barend Raaff and Matthijs Metzemaekers (Harver), Wouter Goedhart and Tycho van Paassen (VonQ), Roel Jansen (Usabilla) and Kees de Jong (NLGroeit).

“Thanks to this investment round, we can further develop the platform, expand our team and receive support from experienced tech entrepreneurs,” said Guido Schmitz, co-founder of Oneteam.

“The fact that so many successful entrepreneurs believe in our platform makes us very proud,” he added.

How Oneteam was born?

Ruben Wieman and Guido Schmitz founded Oneteam in 2015 out of their own frustrations with jobs. They both took a few side jobs where they encountered several challenges. In some cases, they had to check hard copy rosters attached to the wall in the company canteen to figure out their schedule.

Wieman says, “There was an intranet, newsletter, bulletin board, many WhatsApp groups, training booklets, and old-fashioned e-learning systems. I believed that companies should create one app for these ‘mobile’ employees in which it all comes together.”

And with this vision, Oneteam was founded.

Mobile-first employee platform

Oneteam helps HR teams to connect, train, and engage their frontline workforce. The mobile-first platform includes core components such as internal communication, onboarding, eLearning, and surveys.

According to the company, every client will be assigned with a Customer Success Manager who will give their team the best possible training before and after going live.

At present, the Dutch startup has thousands of users, including H&M, Albert Heijn, and Domino’s Pizza. The platform ensures that these companies can better engage frontline employees and thereby prevent staff shortages.
