With the acquisition, RISK gains access to a large, young audience, and Dyme can expand its products in the Netherlands and enter the German market.
The Dyme brand and current management team will remain in place.
With the support of RISK, Dyme can accelerate building toward its mission — giving consumers more financial breathing space through “smart technology and personal attention.
RISK: Insurtech service provider
RISK is an insurtech service provider and underwriting agency for financial advisors, online labels, and insurers.
With its proprietary IT platform, SureBase, RISK enables the comparison and distribution of embedded financial products.
The platform is used, among others, by Overstappen.nl and Autoverzekering.nl.
“Dyme shows how easy saving can be,” says Harm Vollmuller, CEO of RISK. “With their technology, a household can arrange in minutes what would otherwise take days. By combining that with our platforms and market knowledge, we can reach people at a time when financial breathing space is more important than ever.”
Dyme: Personal financial assistant
Founded in 2018 by Joran Iedema, David Knap, and Wouter Florijn, Dyme is an independent European PSD2 startup.
The app acts as a personal financial assistant, reading the fine print and negotiating on its customers’ behalf to save them headaches and money.
With Dyme, customers can easily change their energy supplier, renegotiate telecom contracts, cancel the gym subscription, and more.
Since its inception, more than 600,000 Dutch consumers have connected their bank accounts to Dyme.
With the help of smart algorithms, an automatic cancellation service, and personal advice, they have together saved over €40M, claims the company.
In 2024, Dyme recorded its first profitable quarter after a period of strong growth.
“We wanted to build an app from the very beginning that puts money directly back into people’s pockets,” says Joran Iedema, CEO and co-founder of Dyme. “Many Dutch people don’t have a clear overview of their fixed expenses. With Dyme, you can instantly see where you’re paying too much and lower your costs with just a few clicks. Together with RISK, we can now bring this to millions of Europeans.”
