Viva Technology, a flagship event that has rapidly emerged as a global convergence point for startups, tech leaders, and corporate giants, is back with its 2024 edition. 

The four-day global tech conference aims to accelerate innovation by connecting startups, technology leaders, large companies, and investors who are addressing the world’s greatest challenges.

The eighth edition will be held from May 22 to May 25, 2024, at the Expo Porte de Versailles, Paris.

30% increase in European countries

The 2024 edition of VivaTech is expected to witness a 30 per cent increase in the number of European countries present compared to the previous year. 

VivaTech will welcome more than 120 countries and 40 pavilions, including the United Kingdom’s first-ever appearance among the 14 European countries represented. 

Japan, “Country of the Year,” will showcase its tech ecosystem and arrive with a delegation of institutions, companies, and startups. Many other countries in Asia, America, and Africa will also be well-represented. VivaTech will also host the AfricaTech Awards for the third year running.

VivaTech is also introducing a new program designed to assist business leaders (CMOs, CIOs, CTOs, CDOs) in sparking growth and innovation.

The Female Founder Challenge by VivaTech champions women-led startups and breakthrough innovation. The goal is to empower women entrepreneurs by connecting them with venture capitalist through networking and funding opportunitiess. This year’s top five finalists include

  • Daria Stepanova, Co-Founder and CEO of AIRMO
  • Pamela Pardini, CEO and Co-founder of Bionirs
  • Alyssa Emmungil Co-founder and CEO of HappyPal
  • Albane Dersy Co-Founder and CEO of Inbolt

These five finalists will present their ideas onstage during VivaTech 2024, on May 23rd, on VivaTech Stage 1, to a panel of leading venture capitalists and investors. 

VivaTech is organising the third edition of the AfricaTech Awards. This pan-African initiative recognizes and supports startups making a positive impact in Climate Tech, Health Tech, and E-commerce/FinTech. This year, the E-Commerce & FinTech category attracted the highest number of entries (148), followed by Climate Tech (86) and Health Tech (79). Viva Technology annually publishes the “Top 100 Next Unicorns“, a list of the most promising scaleups in Europe with the potential to reach a valuation of $1B or more. The list highlights fast-growing tech companies based in the EU with huge potential to strengthen the European tech ecosystem.

The Next Startupper Challenge is an award that provides a platform for young entrepreneurs to present their company to a panel of experts. This is an ideal opportunity for the next generation of entrepreneurs who are working on projects that have a positive impact on society to turn their dreams into reality.

By participating, startups grab the attention of more than 150,000 visitors and over 5M online views that make up the VivaTech ecosystem.
