Daan Becker, former CEO of Amsterdam-based electric shared moped company Felyx, has stepped down from his position after 4.5 years with the company.

“Ending my ride,” mentions Becker in a LinkedIn post. “After 4.5 amazing years, I am ending my journey at Felyx. It has been a time filled with challenges, growth, and valuable lessons.”

“Over the past 2.5 years as CEO, I had the privilege of leading an incredible team through moments that defined the company: scaling down the team, significantly improving profitability, going into full transparency mode, fighting through difficult times, getting to an agreement with Cooltra, merging felyx into the Cooltra group, launching new businesses (e.g., shared e-bikes and B2B operations), leaving AND finally returning to Amsterdam, our home turf. All leading to leaving Felyx in a better and more sustainable place today.”

Becker further adds, “I’m incredibly proud of what we achieved together and grateful to all colleagues (current and former), partners, customers, and everyone who made this journey possible. The lessons in leadership, resilience, and collaboration will stay with me forever.”

“After taking some time off with my girlfriend and dog, I’m excited for new challenges where I can bring my experience and energy. If you have an idea or opportunity, don’t hesitate to reach out!”

“Ending with a felyx classic: ‘What a ride it has been!’”

Brief about Felyx

Founded in 2017, Felyx provides shared electric mopeds in the Netherlands. The company operates 100 per cent electric mopeds and service vehicles to offer a shared transportation option for urban areas.

Felyx aims to provide a method of moving people in cities while reducing reliance on gasoline or diesel vehicles.

In March 2024, Felyx announced the merger with the Spanish company Cooltra. In November 2024, the Amsterdam-based company sold its German business to Berlin-based emmy, another e-moped sharing company and a subsidiary of GoTo Global.
