Amsterdam-based Founda Health, a technology company that builds infrastructure for the global healthcare sector, announced that it has acquired Philips Interoperability Solutions, previously known as Forcare.

With this deal, the Philips Interoperability Solutions team will be integrated with the Founda Health team. The specific terms of the deal remain undisclosed.

Enhancing patient care

Philips Interoperability Solutions aims to address healthcare challenges by streamlining workflows and improving care collaboration through data exchange.

The firm claims that its expertise has benefited numerous healthcare enterprises, fostering connected information systems and driving efficiency to enhance overall care quality.

“Interoperability is the foundation of the Philips health continuum vision. At Philips Interoperability Solutions, we bring together patient clinical information as people travel through the stages of the health continuum to improve care,” says the company.

Aim of the acquisition

The acquisition of Philips Interoperability Solutions enhances Founda Health’s global presence in healthcare data exchange, bolstering national and international operations.

Founda Health remains committed to constructing a modern, scalable, and cost-effective data infrastructure, fostering innovation for the mutual benefit of healthcare providers and patients.

Founda Health claims that its platform eliminates barriers to healthcare innovation by facilitating communication between new digital solutions and existing IT systems, including Forcare’s technology, which enables the exchange of medical data among healthcare providers.

Erik Schilperoort, MD of Founda Health says, “The ability to change and innovate will determine the future of healthcare. The implementation of new models of collaboration, the availability of data and their optimal use are essential for a future-proof healthcare ecosystem.”

“This acquisition is therefore a logical step toward a new healthcare data infrastructure that enables innovation to put patient care above all else,” adds Schilperoort.

Through the acquisition, Founda Health transforms into a complete data availability solution, ensuring secure and accessible data across the healthcare chain. The integrated platform reduces the workload for healthcare professionals and IT teams, thereby enhancing the overall quality of care.

Schilperoort says, “Our first priority is a seamless transition for our existing customers, employees and partners. In addition, we are investing in incrementally merging the platforms and will gradually add new functionality.”

“Customers can then take full advantage of continuous modernisation and the synergy between the two platforms.”

“Our mission remains the same: to set the standard for data availability in healthcare so that the entire healthcare ecosystem can continue to innovate in a patient-oriented way.”
