Last update:

Tbilisi, Georgia-based Wempler, the marketplace for task delegation, announced on Tuesday that it has raised $330K (approximately €301K) in a pre-seed round of funding led by Presto Ventures with participation from angel investors.

The latest injection of capital will enable Wempler to fund product development, expand its market reach, and penetrate the Georgian market while also expanding across the CIS region.

“Thanks to the successful pre-seed round, we’ll be able to elevate the gig economy and introduce the concept to the wider CEE region. We’ll also continue to save thousands of hours and deliver peace of mind by providing our customers with the opportunity to delegate their errands in minutes,” says Aleksandre Tavkhelidze, co-founder & CEO.

What does Wampler aim to solve?

The gig economy and service-sharing culture have gained tremendous momentum in recent years.

People are increasingly turning to freelancers and service providers to outsource various tasks, from grocery shopping and home cleaning to pet care and handyman jobs.

The allure of the gig economy lies in its ability to offer quick and convenient solutions to time-strapped individuals.

However, various service providers in the gig economy have created a challenge known as “choice overload.”

With countless options available, customers often experience decision fatigue and uncertainty when selecting a service provider.

To address this issue, Wempler has developed a matching algorithm that pairs customers with the three most suitable offers from the highest-rated local service providers within minutes.

This streamlined approach simplifies the comparison process, ensuring customers make informed decisions without feeling overwhelmed.

Wempler: Platform to delegate one-off tasks

Founded by Aleksandre Tavkhelidze, Giorgi Javakhidze, and David Berdznishvili in 2022, Wempler connects people to local businesses and individual experts to delegate one-off tasks.

Whether it’s a one-off errand, cleaning job, handyman task, or delivery, customers can place a request on Wempler via text message, voice message, or call.

Once the request is received, Wempler immediately connects the customer with specialised partner companies or verified, experienced local experts who can fulfill the task.

The platform’s user-friendly interface, accessible via its mobile app or responsive website, displays efficiency and user engagement, claims the company.

Since its inception, Wempler has completed over 22,000 tasks, serving more than 10,000 unique customers. With a focus on quality and reliability, Wempler has verified and registered more than 5,700 task-doers, ensuring customers receive top-notch service.

Furthermore, the company has partnered with over 50 businesses and secured an exclusive partnership with Glovo, a leading on-demand delivery platform.
