Investors in this round
The round saw participation from existing investors, including renowned names from the real estate world such as Eddy Smit (MVGM), Schroders Capital (formerly Cairn Real Estate), Daan van der Vorm (VORM), IMP Participaties, and Timeless Investments.
Eddy Smit, co-owner at MVGM, says, “In order to timely transform Dutch real estate to climate neutral, the accelerated adoption of technology and data is essential. Healthy Workers has found the ‘sweet spot’ by making asset management and building management data-driven for the investor, manager, and end-user. You could think of their platform as the Google Analytics for buildings.”
About Healthy Workers
Founded in 2016 by Guus Meulendijks (founder B.Amsterdam) and Jonatan Roose, Healthy Workers is a proptech startup that aims to make every building smart, sustainable and healthy.
With its ESG and Smart Building platform, Healthy Workers helps property managers and owners gain insight into the energy and indoor climate performance of their portfolios. Smart analytics ensure that the building and business operations perform optimally and efficiently as possible.
The founders of the company believe that every building in the Netherlands must become climate neutral by 2050 and emissions must be halved by 2030, which is an enormous challenge.
Meulendijks says, “Real estate must act now because 90 per cent of buildings do not perform to their capacity and even 70 per cent perform moderate to poor. You can’t make improvements if you don’t know where the problem is. Thanks to our data-driven approach, we turn every real estate company into a tech company and we turn every building into a smart one. We measure, analyse and improve the ESG and health performance of buildings. Our Healthy Workers platform subsequently provides the foundation for a sustainable transformation.“
Currently, the company’s platform is used for more than 600,000 m2 of building space in the Netherlands, and recently closed a major deal for 41 logistics properties.
