DeepLife gets funding from YZR, Turenne Groupe, and others

Paris-based DeepLife is a biotech company with a mission to cure disease one cell at a time with Digital Twins of cells. The company develops novel approaches based on state-of-the-art multi-omics data, AI, and systems engineering to identify molecular triggers driving diseased cells back to their healthy state. The company raised $10M in Series A funding led by YZR and Turenne Groupe and joined by Beiersdorf, Groupe Prunay, and the existing investors. (Read more)

Paris-based ERS (Ecosystem Restoration Standard) is a global certification standard specialised in nature-based carbon projects. The company uses technology to assess and monitor projects efficiently and thoroughly. Embotech is a provider of cutting-edge autonomous driving solutions for logistics, focusing on Automated Vehicle Marshalling (AVM) in passenger car factories and Autonomous Terminal Tractors (ATT) at port terminals and logistic centers. The company received $27M in Series B funding led by Emerald Technology Ventures and Yttrium, with additional funds from BMW i Ventures, Nabtesco Technology Ventures, Sustainable Forward Capital Fund, RKK VC, and existing investors. Refute bags £2.3M funding

Refute, the London-based company fighting disinformation on behalf of commercial organisations, detecting and responding to campaigns at the speed of the attackers. The company raised £2.3M in a pre-seed round led by Playfair and Episode 1, with participation from Notion Capital and Amadeus Capital Partners. Refute also received angel investment from experienced tech investors Charlie Songhurst, Carlos Espinal, James Chappell, and Alastair Paterson. (Read more)

Saventic Health has created AI algorithms that diagnosed over 200 people with rare diseases last year. The company works with pharmaceutical companies and clinics around the world. Recently, it secured $2.1M in funding to expand into Europe, South America, and Canada. ARTEM is a company focused on tracking greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across cross-border supply chains. This helps producers, exporters, and importers meet carbon tax requirements and participate in emissions trading schemes worldwide, especially those that affect borders, like the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). Recently, the company secured €1.5M in seed funding to develop its comprehensive software and hardware platform further to help EU companies and non-EU producers ensure CBAM compliance and enable the transition to net-zero manufacturing. Utrecht-based Happybase helps employees take charge of their personal and professional growth. The platform’s unique methodology, grounded in positive psychology and design thinking, fosters meaningful conversations about growth while providing organisations with actionable insights to retain and nurture talent effectively. The company raised €650,000 from FiveStones Group, alongside a group of business angels and incoming CCO Jan Ewoud ten Brink.

SNIPR Biome receives €20M from EIB

SNIPR Biome is a Danish biotech company developing precision medicines using CRISPR (clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats) technology for microbial gene therapy. The company is applying CRISPR-Cas technology to improve the treatment and prevention of diseases by targeting bacteria or modifying genes. Based out of Berlin, wefox is an insurtech platform that connects insurance companies, brokers, businesses, and customers to provide easy access to digital insurance solutions. It aims to improve the insurance experience by offering a platform that supports the entire insurance ecosystem. The platform helps insurance companies launch new products across different distribution channels. Recently, the company reached an agreement with a group of Swiss companies led by the independent Swiss pension service provider BERAG on the sale of Liechtenstein-based wefox Insurance AG. ION-X secures €13M funding

ION-X specialises in space propulsion and a spin-off from CNRS and the startup studio Technofounders, secured €13M in funding to launch the industrialisation of its ion thruster for small satellites and accelerate its development in France and internationally.
