Paris-based Incepto, an AI-powered medical imaging solutions company, announced on Monday, September 19, that it has raised €27M in a fresh round of funding to expand its services in Europe.
The investment was led by private equity firm LBO France’s Venture Digital Health. The round also saw participation from Wille Finance, and existing investors AXA Venture Partners, the Patient Autonome fund of Bpifrance and Karista.
Providing AI solutions for medical imaging
Founded in 2018 by Antoine Jomier and Florence Moreau, Incepto claims its platform can offer doctors and hospitals access to solutions based on artificial intelligence, to improve the quality of diagnoses and save time for medical teams without having to change equipment. It does that by bringing together a community of partners, AI producers and radiologists, who share its vision of technology serving people.
With a hundred clinics equipped with their AI solutions and more than 100,000 patients monitored every month, Incepto’s goal is twofold: to help doctors identify efficient solutions and put them at their service, and to co-create new applications adapted to their specific needs.
Funds for expansion in Europe
The funding allows Incepto to introduce its service in four more European nations including Germany, Spain, Italy, and Portugal, with the aim of anchoring its position as the European leader in the sector, and treating one million European patients per month by 2024.
Additionally, the company is also signing five new partnerships with IB Lab, Milvue, PAIRE, SmartSoft, and Thirona, to expand its selection of medical imaging applications for emergency care, cancer, orthopaedics, rheumatology, and pneumology.
Incepto is addressing important public health issues by expanding its geographic reach and growing its suite of applications. This includes reducing waiting times for examinations, addressing the shortage of specialists for some serious diseases, and assisting doctors as they deal with the increasing amount of data that needs to be analysed.
Incepto has three strategic goals for the booming AI sector in Europe:
- Choosing and making accessible AI imaging solutions for each speciality while ensuring the highest standards of quality.
- Collaborating with medical professionals to develop novel applications that address unmet needs: ARVA and KEROS are thus the first products jointly created by Incepto for the diagnostic assistance of aortic aneurysms in CT scanners and for MRI of the knee.
- Supporting organisations and working methods by rethinking patient care with medical teams to exploit the full potential of artificial intelligence technologies.
