Ghent-based IntelliProve, a Belgian healthtech company active in the digital healthcare market, has raised €1.25M in a seed round of funding.
The investment came from Belgian VC Miles Ahead, The White and Yellow Cross, Wit-Gele Kruis, imec.istart fund, and tech entrepreneurs Jeroen De Wit (Teamleader), Louis Jonckheere (Showpad, Wintercircus), Gilles Mattelin and Jorn Vanysacker (Henchman, Intuo), Matthias Geeroms (Lighthouse) and Joris Van Der Gucht (Silverfin).
The funds will support IntelliProve’s mission to advance health and well-being solutions through objective insights and preventive holistic health approaches.
Brecht Dhuyvetters, co-founder and CPO of IntelliProve says, “Since the beginning of our product development, our goal has been to build an accessible, user-friendly and inclusive solution to lower barriers to preventive healthcare.”
“With this strategic investment, we’re ready to take the next step: refining our solution further and rolling it out across Europe.”
Health assessment through face analysis
Founded in 2021 by Maxime Mattelin, Tanguy Sanglet, Brecht Dhuyvetters, and Joeri Tulkens, IntelliProve aims to save human lives through improved health monitoring.
It replaces traditional health assessments, which rely on devices and questionnaires, with a software solution that determines health parameters using contactless optical facial scans.
The smartphone-based platform uses signal processing and computer vision to enable real-time health monitoring and support preventive healthcare with “digital biopsies”.
IntelliProve collaborates with organisations such as Het Wit-Gele Kruis, TU Delft, vzw Zorg-Saam, and imec.istart. Its CE-marked and ISO27001-certified product is available as a plug-in for digital platforms in sectors like digital health, corporate wellbeing, and health insurance.
In 2024, the company tripled its revenue and expanded operations to seven European countries, including Belgium, where clients include Helan and Neutraal Ziekenfonds Vlaanderen.
IntelliProve’s software usage has grown significantly over the past two years, with the company projected to reach 10 billion health checks by 2028. “This isn’t just a number; it represents millions of people benefiting from healthcare that is more accessible and personalised than ever before,” says Joeri Tulkens, co-founder and co-CEO of IntelliProve.
Tulkens adds, “We have a great product, a fantastic team, supportive research partners and a digital health market that embraces new technologies. With the backing of tech leaders who bring invaluable expertise in scaling businesses, this smart funding comes at the perfect time to help us scale further.”
Currently, IntelliProve has a team of eight, combining expertise in technology, healthcare, and business to create scalable healthcare innovations. The company plans to double its team size within a year and focuses on digital healthcare transformation by providing tools for real-time health insights. The team operates from the Wintercircus in Ghent.
