Epaux-Bézu, France-based Jungle Corp, the first European AgTech company offering a turn-key B2B solution to locally grow zero-pesticide plants at scale, announced that it has concluded its operations after an eight-year of service.
The announcement was made by Nicolas Seguy, Managing Director & Co-founder at Jungle Corp, in a post via LinkedIn.
“After an incredible 8-year journey with Jungle, despite our best efforts and the tremendous support from our team, investors, and creditors, the company has come to the end of its path,” says Seguy.
Nicolas Seguy joins Growy
However, the end of Jungle marks the beginning of a new chapter for Nicolas Seguy, who is set to join Growy, a company specialised in indoor farming innovation.
“During the court proceedings, I had the opportunity to closely work with Growy, a true leader in the CEA industry, and the only player who has cracked the code of Indoor Farming to deliver an automated, data driven and profitable model. I am thrilled to be joining their team of farmers and innovators, working alongside Ard Van de Kreeke and his vision to repair a broken food system,” he announces.
Growy’s turnkey investment model is priced at 1500€/m2, significantly reducing costs by at least 50 per cent compared to industry standards.
The company approach also leads to lower electrical consumption, with 12 kWh per kilogram of produce, far below the industry average of 45 kWh.
This efficiency extends to labour costs, with only ten operators required to manage a 10,000m2 farm, as opposed to the typical 30-40 workers.
Seaguy adds that Growy is committed to sustainability by offering pesticide-free, locally-grown produce at affordable prices all year round. Its seed genetics strategy improves yields, germination rates, and product quality, raising the bar for agricultural production.
Currently, Growy is actively seeking collaboration with retailers, food service professionals, and industry partners who can offer market access, customer engagement, and regional expertise.
“Unlike many, Growy does not sell its technology outright but believes in delivering performance from the Technology all the way to farm operations. If you’re interested in building local farms to bring sustainable solutions to your region, I encourage you to reach out,” he concludes.
Growy is set to expand its facilities, starting with its Amsterdam farm, he adds.
