Warsaw-based Jutro Medical, a Polish AI-first primary care provider, has raised €12M in Series A funding. The round was led by KAYA VC and RIO ASI, with participation from existing investor Inovo VC. The round also includes a debt component from mBank.

The funds will support the development of medical AI agents and expansion in Europe, focusing on the Netherlands and Poland.

Piotr Siezieniewski, Partner at RIO ASI, says, “Jutro Medical has proven that primary care can be delivered differently—leveraging technology to provide high-quality medical care focused on patient value, all free of charge under Europe’s mandatory public health insurance.”

“Adam and his team have built a vertically integrated healthcare provider covering the entire value chain. With their proprietary AI agents, they’re set to disrupt primary care across Europe, and I’m glad to support them on this journey.”

A primary healthcare startup

Jutro Medical, founded in 2020 by Adam Janczewski, is a primary care provider serving 70,000 patients. The company operates as an AI-first primary care clinic, integrating medical AI agents into patient interactions. The company has facilitated 400,000 visits.

These AI agents assist in teleconsultations, handling over 68 per cent of cases by gathering initial information, documenting visits, and streamlining doctor-patient interactions. In straightforward cases, the AI reduces consultation time to a median of 2 minutes and 37 seconds.

Jutro Medical’s AI agents are built on a proprietary electronic health record system, designed to securely manage patient data. Initially, human agents conducted intake interviews to validate the workflow before transitioning the process to AI. The company has facilitated 400,000 visits.

CEO & Founder, Janczewski, says, “When you break down complex healthcare delivery into hundreds of tasks done daily by the doctors and medical staff, you discover that only a tiny part of these tasks have anything to do with medicine and health.”

“We’ve been dissecting these processes and turning them into skills that we can teach AI agents, so they can handle them end-to-end, shifting all operational tasks and red tape from human to AI. We are building medical AI agents who can take over all these tasks from doctors, allowing them to finally practice medicine.”

Jutro Medical’s medical AI agents operate under the supervision of doctors, who retain full responsibility for medical decisions and reviewing AI-gathered information. Patient data remains private and secure, with the LLM models powering the AI agents developed and hosted internally by the company.

The use of AI agents is optional for patients. Those who do not opt-in can continue to have appointments through traditional online or offline consultations.

Capital utilisation

Jutro Medical will use the funds to expand its physical presence in Europe, opening its first clinic in the Netherlands and continuing growth in Poland. The company aims to serve 350,000 patients within the next 24 months.

To support this expansion, Jutro Medical has added experienced healthcare executives to its leadership team. These professionals have previously managed 227 clinics and contributed to €450M in primary care revenue over the past decade.

Bartosz Skawiński (CFO) and Konrad Michalski (Medical Director) played key roles in expanding PZU Zdrowie into Poland’s third-largest healthcare provider. Marek Maleszyk (COO) previously led the growth of a primary care network from one facility to 85 clinics, overseeing 2,000 employees.

Karel Zheng, Partner at KAYA VC, says, “AI will benefit incumbents, and Adam has positioned Jutro Medical to capture maximum value as the technology matures. He has quietly tested what’s possible using LLMs, with 30 people acting as medical agents, to map processes directly into the company’s proprietary electronic health record system.”

“We’re excited to partner with Adam and his team as they transform healthcare services into AI-powered software products, directly benefiting patients and doctors.”
