Former Adyen technology leaders Kim Verkooij and Etienne Gerts have announced the launch of a new billing platform, Solvimon.
The Utrecht-based startup enables businesses to use creative pricing strategies to allow them to adapt to changing client demands and market trends. It does that by giving users access to a tool with a wide range of pricing and payment choices.
Solvimon claims that its solution focuses on flexibility in contrast to conventional billing platforms. This helps companies to switch over to usage-based pricing and billing without experiencing any disruptions.
A next-generation billing platform
Solvimon helps companies’ commercial teams to provide customisable pricing, such as based on real use, user count, or a combination of the two. It also offers a mechanism for the finance teams to effectively invoice items on a wide scale without manual labour.
According to a statement, Solvimon co-founders Kim Verkooij and Etienne Gerts created an internal invoicing solution at Adyen that was specially adapted to the needs of the organisation.
Due to the lack of a Solvimon-like solution at the time, Adyen was forced to create the tool on its own, which was expensive and time-consuming.
Verkooij and Gerts came to the conclusion that the market is moving towards usage-based pricing models and that the present suppliers’ products are no longer adequate.
Verkooij says, “The shift to flexible pricing models is why we started Solvimon. Many companies look to the pricing model of industry leaders like Snowflake or Dropbox for inspiration to generate incremental revenue or stay ahead of the competition. With Solvimon they can.”
What does Solvimon solve?
User-based pricing is no longer regarded as the industry norm. Flexible use or hybrid pricing models are rising in favour, according to a recent study from venture capital firm Openview.
Even though usage-based pricing is now offered by three out of every five software businesses, the complexity of invoicing is still a big problem. Solvimon provides a solution for this. It allows consumers to select a price model without being constrained by the billing platform.
Utilising product usage insights, customers of the Solvimon platform can model complicated pricing strategies and generate bids in order to locate and seize possibilities for revenue optimisation.
Additionally, Solvimon is aware of the difficulties in implementing variable pricing models on a big scale in the billing process.
Solvimon believes that many businesses struggle to correctly and automatically charge their consumers, which frequently results in manual labour, lost income, and other issues. Therefore, the startup provides tools and functionality to help streamline and automate the invoicing process using sophisticated pricing models.
This helps organisations to deploy variable pricing models, efficiently manage the complexity this requires, reduce mistakes, and ensure accurate and prompt invoicing to clients.
Kim Verkooij says, “Traditional platforms do not solve these problems. There is a growing need for a billing platform that is specifically designed for scalable international growth, one that fits the needs of the new generation of companies.”
“The current pricing model landscape is changing rapidly, and Solvimon can help companies stay ahead of the game,” adds Etienne Gerts.
