Amsterdam-based Legal Mind, a company developing an AI platform for lawyers and attorneys, has secured €750K in a recent investment round.

Besides funding, the Dutch company also announced the appointment of two experienced entrepreneurs — Hans de Werd and Tarik El Hamdaoui, to its board of directors to oversee growth and positioning.

Hans de Werd is a founder of several companies and has extensive experience scaling B2B platforms.

Tarik El Hamdaoui is an experienced tech investor and former founder of fast-growing software-driven companies.

The Dutch company will use the funds to further develop its legal AI platform, accelerate the expansion of the R&D and product team, strengthen sales, marketing and strategic partnerships and scale up customer success and support.

What does Legal Mind solve?

The legal sector is changing. The amount of information is growing, laws are becoming more complex, and clients expect quicker and more accurate advice.

This doesn’t mean lawyers have to take on more work. All they need to do is find smarter ways to work that combine their expertise with technology.

Here’s where Legal Mind comes into play!

Designed for Dutch laws and regulations

Founded in 2022 by Jelle Burggraaf and George Gowers, Legal Mind‘s AI-powered platform combines technological precision with legal expertise, supporting legal research, case analysis, and document generation.

Legal Mind is a digital tool designed for Dutch laws and regulations.

“Our platform goes beyond the usual tools. It’s specifically designed to support lawyers in the Netherlands with the core processes essential to their daily practice, now and in the future,” says founder George Gowers.

According to the company, it not only gives information but also understands context and acts like an experienced professional.

This helps speed up analysis, organise files, and draft documents intelligently. As a result, legal professionals can focus more on their main tasks — strategy, advice, and justice.

“By using AI as a technology, we enable lawyers to leverage their expertise even further,” says founder Jelle Burggraaf. “Our proprietary intelligent model allows us to guarantee the reliability and legal accuracy of our results, something that’s often lacking in generic AI solutions.”

Unlike traditional AI, the company’s models are trained on legal texts, understand legal context, and don’t generate hallucinations.

The Legal Mind platform is fully GDPR-compliant and hosted in the Netherlands. At present, the company employs 12 dedicated professionals.

Legal Mind has connected with 40 law firms through its platform and 350 active users who utilise the tools every day.
